From May 11th to May 17th, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department organized a tourism promotion program in Australia to showcase Vietnam’s tourism and Ho Chi Minh City.

The Tourism Department of Ho Chi Minh City stated that it collaborated with the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia and the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney to organize a tourism promotion program for Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane from May 11th to May 17th.

The program also created opportunities for exchange, meetings, and strengthened trade connections between Vietnamese tourism businesses and Australia. AB TRAVEL is also honored and proud to be one of the Vietnamese representatives attending this event.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department, led the delegation along with more than 20 representatives from leading airlines, tourism companies, and hotels in Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition to meeting with airlines, tourism companies, and leading hotels in Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City, the delegates also experienced making conical hats, playing with clay figurines and enjoying performances of traditional musical instruments such as the monochord, the zither, and the T’rung.

Furthermore, the delegates provided the latest news and updates on tourism in Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City, introducing festivals and events in Ho Chi Minh City in 2023. Also, new tourism products and cultural tourism routes in Ho Chi Minh City were introduced.

According to the Tourism Department, Australia is one of the important objective markets for Vietnam’s tourism, with great potential to contribute to the flow of tourists to Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

The total number of Australian tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City reached nearly 300,000 in 2019 and over 130,000 in 2022, accounting for about 3.5% of the total international tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City in 2022.
